This aircraft was laid up due to a crack in the crankcase.
The engine was sent to the overhaul shop and a full repair was carried
out with complete inspection of all components including the A.D. for
VAR crank. It was determined that a full overhaul would not make
the engine any more reliable and throwing serviceable parts away just
to say it meets O/H standards seemed a waste. This engine will give
O/H reliability and performance for hundreds of hours.
We installed all the hydraulics for the amphibious floats and installed
the floats after fully servicing them.
The propeller ran out on the 10 year overhaul time and was O/H.
The blade length is A and thickness B+ so almost new.
The aircraft is very basic in equipment but this also makes it lightweight
and at 2274 lbs. has a reasonable useful load. It flies smoothly,
really performs and is a pleasure to fly. |
